Register seed information

Just as seeds are needed to grow vegetables, Orion cannot create a grow plan without seed information. This page explains how to register the supplier from which you purchase seeds and register information about the seeds.

Registration of supplier​

In order to register products such as seeds and fertilizers, you must first register your supplier. If your supplier is not registered, be sure to complete this step!

Register your supplier of seeds, fertilizer, etc. Select "Farm Management" from the left menu and click "Supplier". You can use this screen to manage your suppliers and products such as seeds and fertilizers. The "Vendor" tab manages suppliers, and the "Product" tab manages products.

Once you open the "Vendor" tab, click the "+" button at the top right of the screen. Then, when you select the "Add Vendor" menu, a screen to add a supplier will be displayed.

Enter the values in each of the following four steps to register your vendor!

  1. Name & Address
  2. Vendor Contact
  3. Distributor Contact
  4. Payment

Name & Address​

In this step, enter the vendor's name and address. Required fields are Vendor Name, Country, and City. Once the input is complete, click the "Continue" button. supplier_add_vendor_step1

What if you want to temporarily save input contents?

If you want to temporarily stop inputting items, please press the "Temporarily Save" button! You can temporarily save the input contents up to that point. You can resume entering registration details by clicking the "Add Vendor" menu. This button is available for all steps.

Vendor Contact​

Register your supplier's contact information. Register the phone number of the company itself and the contact information of the person in charge specified by the company. Required fields are Vendor Telephone, Contact Name, Contact Title, Contact Telephone, and Contact Email.

  • If the contact information of the vendor and the person in charge are the same, please enter the same value.
  • If there is more than one person in charge, you can register the contact information of the other person by clicking the "+Another Contact" button.

Distributor Contact​

If you use a distributor as an intermediary when purchasing goods from a vendor, you can register the person in charge of that distributor. Registration of a distributor is optional, so you can skip it if it is not necessary. If you want to skip it, click "Continue" without entering anything.

If you enter a value in Branch/Distributor Name, the other items that need to be entered will become mandatory. Enter Country, City, Address, Postal Code, Distributor Telephone, Contact Name, Contact Title, Contact Telephone, Contact Email!

Payment​

If you register a distributor, you can register your payment information. Registration of this information is all optional, so click the "Save" button without entering any unnecessary information. supplier_add_vendor_step4

Accomplished! If registration is successful, the registered vendor will be displayed in the "Vendor" list.

Next, let's register the seeds.

Register seed​

You can manage products needed for farm operation and vegetable cultivation, such as seeds, cultivation media, nutrients, and tools. The key point is that the content to be managed differs between "seeds" and other products. In the case of "seeds", you will need to register the type and variety of vegetables, estimated number of days until germination, etc. This information is then referenced when creating grow plan and accepting orders from customers.

Now, click the "Product" tab to display the product management screen, and click the "+ Add Product" button at the top right of the screen.

There are four steps to registering your product. Let's check them in order.

The input contents differ depending on whether the product is a "seed" or something else. Procurement info in step 3 and Usage Recommendation in step 4. This page explains seed registration. For registration of other products, please check the function page.

Details​

You can register the product name, product type, and vendor. Required fields are Product Name, Product Category, Vendor Name, Product ID or Custom ID. Depending on the Product Category you select in this step, you will be able to distinguish between "seed" and other products. This time, we want to register “seeds”, so let’s select “Seeds”! When you have completed entering other items, click "Continue".

Description​

Enter the product specifications or any additional information you would like to register. All input items are optional, so if you do not need to input anything, click "Continue".

Procurement Info​

In this step, you will register the quantity and price of seeds. Required fields are Package, Package Unit, Package Price, and Tax Rate.

What if you can't find the Unit you want to use in the list?

Units can be added according to the purpose. Select Unit to display a list of registered units. There is an input field labeled "Add a Unit" at the bottom of the unit list, so enter the name of the unit you want to register. After completing the input, press Enter to complete adding the unit. The added units will be displayed in the list from next time onwards, so you can use them again.

Usage Recommendation​

In the final step, you can register general information about the seeds, such as crop type, crop variety, yield, etc. Required fields are Crop Type, Crop Variety, Seeding Density, and Unit.

tip

The information you register in this step will be referenced when creating customer order data and grow plan. Yields such as Sapling are required when creating order data from customers. Although it is not a required field, we recommend that you register it!

What if you can't find the Crop Type or Crop Variety you want to use in the list?

You can freely add Crop Type and Crop Variety! When you select an input item, registered values will be displayed in a list. At the bottom there is an input field labeled "Add a Crop Type" and "Add a Crop Variety", so enter the value you want to register.

When you have finished entering the values, click "Save" to register the entered contents!
